Editing Content

Changing the words on most pages in your web site is easy.  The first thing you have to do is to login.  A separate help article describes how to Login.

After you have logged in, each page in your site that can be modifed has a small pencil and paper icon next to the article title, as illustrated below.

Edit Icon

The page editor screen will appear as illustrated below:

Edit Content

The red line through the middle of the illustrated article inserts the "Read More" button into this article. On the home page, only the first page is shown on the screen with a "Read More" button after the first paragraph. When the user clicks on the "Read More" button the entire page is displayed. This is done to save space on the home page AND a device to get users to click through to subsequent pages.

You may need to learn some basic HTML (hypertext markup language) to give you a better way of controlling the formatting on the screen. The toolbar on the top of the screen allows you to control bolding, italics, etc. If you know basic HTML, you can click on the small "HTML" icon in the toolbar and the following screen will be displayed.

HTML Editor

The HTML tags are enclosed in the "" (greater than, less than) symbols on the page. A good book for learning basic HTML is "HTML for Dummies". After you have modified the HTML, click on the update button on the bottom of the popup dialog.

You do not have to update your content with HTML. You can attempt to use the WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) screen. You only have to use the HTML screen if you mess something up using the WYSIWYG editor.

A separate article describes how to upload pictures and use them in your article.

A separate article describes how to add a brand new page.
