Thanks for signing up for theupcoming Introduction to Wordpress class.. I would recommend arriving at the center at least 20-30 minutes early to get your laptop set up and connected to the Internet. We will also verify that you have the ability to connect to your Wordpress training blog.
Here is your first assignment! (You need to complete prior to coming to class).
Create your own blog on our server. You will be using this blog during the class. You may already have a Wordpress blog of your own, but I recommend using this special training blog. You will be able to work with this training blog without worrying about messing anything up on your regular blog.
Visit http://www.
During the sign up process you will be prompted for a unique name to assign to your blog. If you were to choose "xyz", your blog name will now be xyz.nonstopportalsezblog.com.
A default password will be assigned to your account. Please make a note of it. You will need this password to sign in to the administrator backend. The backend is available by clicking on the Site Admin link on the default page that is assigned to your account.
You can always access the backend by also typing:
xyz.nonstopportalsezblog.com/wp-admin (substituting your unique blog name for xyz).
You can change your default password in the administrator backend to something that is easier to remember. Go to the Users, Profile section in the left menu bar. On the bottom of the profile page you can change your password.
It is important that we make sure that you have your Wordpress training account set up before class so that we can jump right into the material. Again, plan on coming to class early to make sure that everything is working properly.
